Fireball is akin to Amazon’s Snowball and is a storage array chassis with 96TB of capacity that is rented for $550 for 30 days. Sync data to another NAS or public cloud with Hybrid Backup Sync. Google Drive comes with 15GB of free storage which is unbeaten by most, and even its personal plans are good value for money: 100GB costs 1.99 (£1.59) per month, 200GB costs 2.99 (£2.49) per. Previous inward migration services offered by Backblaze, such as a Cloud to Cloud offering and its Fireball physical disk transfer, have been rolled up into the Universal Data Migration service. Backblaze says its service covers practically any source data location.īackblaze’s Nilay Patel, VP of Sales and Partnerships, said: “Vendor lock-in is the number one challenge organizations face with existing storage solutions – Universal Data Migration is here to answer that challenge.” The vendor claims it does this “without unnecessary costs or complexities.”

Data deletions are completely free for IDrive e2, however Wasabi charges when data is deleted before the minimum retention period. On the other hand, Wasabi, Backblaze and AWS S3 charge fees for egress. As far as fees for egress, IDrive e2 is completely free. It’s a turnkey service and covers migration from other public clouds, storage attached to servers, NAS, SAN, tape libraries (LTO) and cloud drives, such as Apple’s iCloud. Backblaze and IDrive are both excellent online backup services, but each one has its own strengths. IDrive offers 5TB for 79.50 per year at its lowest tier, which is a lot better than the 100 Google charges annually for less than half the amount of storage space. IDrive e2 is also offering new users 90 off your first year. Cloud storage provider Backblaze has set up a Universal Data Migration service where it will cover data transfer and egress charges from other suppliers – with the caveat that you have to commit to move at least 10TB of data to its B2 Cloud Storage service and keep it there. IDrive Business meanwhile offers unlimited users, computers, servers, and more for 74.62 for the first year, with 250GB of storage.
